GAAA - Adams Square

Somehow I miscounted but this is my 6th finished square for the Great American Aran Afghan! It was a quick knit once I understood the pattern and my only downfall was that occasionally I would forget to cable on row 5. Here's my finished square:

I need to take a break from knitting these squares so that I can get some time sensitive projects done but I'm very happy with my progress so far. I might actually have a change of finishing this before the end of next year! [I originally said I wanted it done by the end of 2008 but looking at my stash and list of projects there's no way that's going to happen.]

Pattern: The Great American Aran Afghan - Carol Adams square
Yarn: Plymouth Encore color 7357 worsted weight
Needles: size 6 US (4 mm)
Notions: cable needle & 2 stitch markers
Size before blocking: 11.5" x 12"
Time frame: about 2 weeks due to all the mistakes I made

Work Much?

I swear I have been knitting each night. My days are so full with work that I just haven't had any time to read up on my normal knitting stuff. I have to remind myself to take a break these days otherwise I end up on a conference call wishing I had taken have a minute to myself. My doctor that I've been seeing for migraines said that I should work on reducing stress in my life - HA!

Anyway, I have my 5th GAAA square almost done. I think I should probably finish that tonight or tomorrow. I am participating in the 6th International Scarf Exchange this year so I'm hunting around Ravelry looking for the perfect scarf pattern for my pal that I'm matched up with. This is the first time that I've participated in a swap like this and I can't wait to get started.

I did finish knitting my Glorianna lace scarf a week or two ago but I haven't found time to block it yet. Here's a picture of my confirming measurements that I was finished:

Gracie was very eager to help me lay the scarf flat for measuring:

Samson could care less, he just wants his Mama to sit back down and knit so he can cuddle in her lap:

Handsome Little Man!

I was so happy to see that the original Pea Pod is finally the right size for the handsome little man that it was made for:

I have yet to meet Sean in person but I can't wait! Maybe next month if I'm lucky! He looks so much like his Mommy right now. The green looks so cute on this little Irish guy - just in time for St. Patrick's Day!
